Kelsang Puntsog Rinpoche, the son of Lama Yeshe's old friend Jampa Trinley, was later recognized to be the reincarnation of Geshe Ngawang Gendun, one of Lama's teachers. In January 1975 he was enthroned at Kopan Monastery, Nepal, after which occasion he became known to all as Yangsi Rinpoche.
